Lydia McDowell is a yoga teacher and writer based in Tucson, Arizona whose work focuses on the intersection of breath-based meditation, movement, and storytelling.
As a practicing engineer, Lydia is interested in what lies beyond the boundaries of rational inquiry. Her work, taste for adventure, and spiritual practice have propelled her to study and write about the living dynamism in both nature and technology, recognizing that there is poetry within science and science within poetry.
Her writing, classes, and workshops draw inspiration from animism, ecofeminism, herbalism, and mythology, and are informed by years of travel repairing airplanes around the world.
She teaches weekly yoga, meditation, breathwork, and Qigong classes at Miraval Spa and Wellness Resort and curates sound meditation journeys for private ceremonies and events with her husband & musician Logan Hallay.
